Who We Are
Luna is a moon phase and mindfulness app created and operated by Monica, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at any time at lunawishes.circle@gmail.com.
What Data We Collect
Depending on how you use Luna, we may collect the following:
- Account information — your username and email address when you create a Luna account
- Terms & Conditions acceptance — we record that you accepted our Terms & Conditions and the date and time you did so
- Journal entries and wishes — stored securely on our servers when you are logged in
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Luna Circle, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details
- Subscription status — we store your membership tier to manage your access
- Email notification preferences — if you opt in to moon phase emails, we store your preference and email address to send these
- Community posts and replies — if you use the Community Circle, your posts are stored on our servers and visible to other members
How We Use Your Data
We use your data only to provide and improve the Luna experience:
- To create and manage your Luna account
- To record your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions
- To process your Luna Circle subscription via Stripe
- To send you moon phase notifications and emails you have opted into
- To save your journal entries and wishes across your devices when logged in
- To give you access to members-only content in Luna Circle
- To send important account emails (password reset, subscription confirmation, cancellation)
We will never sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes. Luna is a sacred space and we treat your data with the same respect.
Third-Party Services
Luna uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:
- Stripe — to process subscription payments securely. Stripe has its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy
- Resend — to send transactional emails (welcome, notifications, account emails)
- Cloudinary — to host audio, video and image content within the app
- Railway — to host the Luna backend securely
- Netlify — to host the Luna web app
None of these services receive your journal entries, wishes or personal reflections.
Notifications & Emails
Luna may send you the following types of emails:
- Account emails — welcome email, password reset, subscription confirmation and cancellation. These are necessary to run your account and cannot be opted out of
- Moon phase notifications — sent when the moon changes phase. You can opt in or out of these at any time in your account settings
- Luna Circle updates — new content, upcoming live sessions. You can manage these preferences in your account settings
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for email notifications at any time
- Object to how we process your data
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, email us at lunawishes.circle@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
You can delete your account at any time from within the Luna app. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data from our servers.
Your Moon Journal
Your Moon Journal entries are private to you and stored securely in our database. They will only ever be accessed by Luna for the purpose of deleting them, or at your specific request. We will never read, share or use your journal entries for any other purpose.
You may request deletion of your journal entries at any time by contacting us at lunawishes.circle@gmail.com.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Railway's servers. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit. We will never store your payment card details — all payments are handled directly by Stripe.
Cookies
Luna uses a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Age Requirement
Luna is intended for users aged 18 and over. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email if you have an account with us.
